United Nations Youth Assembly – 2018
Category : News
The United Nations Association in Canada was honored to have Prince George member Karista Olson attend the Youth Assembly at the United Nations in New York this year. Karista joined many other engaged and active youth from all parts of the world to come together and innovate on the challenges that are being faced globally by youth as well as the world at large. As per the Youth Assembly website:
“The Youth Assembly is the largest and longest-running conference that brings youth closer to the United Nations. We have run 21 consecutive sessions and have touched the lives of nearly 15,000 young people from more than 100 countries around the world. Despite coming from a multitude of cultural backgrounds, the extraordinary delegates who make up the Youth Assembly all have one thing in common— their world-changing potential. Majority of the Youth Assembly delegates are social innovators, advocates, and leaders in their communities.”
We thank Karista for her continued hard work in advancing the goals of the United Nations, her community, and our global society.
